Post-Photography:
THE END
In 1839, when photography was disclosed to the whole, painter Paul Delaroche, a supporter of photography, is rumoured to have declared, " From today, painting is dead." The attribution is probably apocryphal, and in many event painting is still a very living art. Nevertheless, photographic become folklore and has been repeatedly enlisted to insinuate that an ironic , cosmic cadence is at work in the history of the medium . If painting was killed by photography, then photography may be destined to die by means of a new medium. Fore , while lauding the success of colour photography in 1985 issues of Creative Camera, Susan Butler claimed that,"From today, black-and-white is dead. Before long, all photography would be declared vanquished at the hand of an even more robust and welcome reformer.
